This booklet is for the family historian who is trying to find information about ancestors who could have been Freemasons, and possibly portraits or photographs of them. It is not necessary to have a knowledge of ritual in order to trace Masonic ancestors, and therefore it has no part in this booklet. The information in this guide is limited to England and Wales, which are under the jursidiction of The United Grand Lodge.
